Borough Market is London’s most popular food market, with more than 20 million visits a year! Luckily for us, vegan food at Borough Market is easy to find and in this vegan guide, we’re going to show you all the best vegan foods to hunt for when you visit!
As Borough Market is the biggest and oldest food market in London, there’s a lot of ground to cover. You’ll find vegan options at Borough Market spread out throughout the different sections.
A lot of the food stalls you come across will be selling fruit and vegetables which is no surprise as that’s how Borough Market originally started. In 1756 the market was the place to go for fruit, vegetables, grains and other non-vegan options.
These days it’s one of the trendiest markets in London, offering a variety of lunches, snacks, and drinks and there isn’t a shortage of vegan places to eat at Borough Market.
Borough Market is one of our favourite markets in London and we’ve been vegan for many years now! When we lived in London, we visited the market regularly and Horn OK Please become one of our favourite places to eat! We love discovering the best vegan food in the city, especially in London!
Whether you want to visit to see the oldest market in London, check out filming locations or even if you want to see what all the hype is about – you can’t leave without indulging in some vegan Borough Market delights.

Vegan Food at Borough Market: 22+ Options
So now we’ll jump into the variety of vegan places to eat at Borough Market! We’ve split this list up into sections for those who prefer to eat at 100% vegetarian and vegan places and then there’s also food stalls that have vegan options.
Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurants Borough Market
Although there aren’t many fully vegan restaurants at Borough Market, there are a few vegan and vegetarian food places and a tasty vegan restaurant! Here’s our list of all the vegetarian and vegan food stalls at Borough Market:
Horn OK Please
Horn OK is our favourite place to find vegan food at Borough Market. They are purely vegetarian with mostly vegan food.
We highly recommend trying the Moong Dal Dosa. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had this dosa for lunch, we usually share one as they come cut in half. The dosas are filled with masala potatoes and served with a chickpea mix with pomegranate seeds.
You can also grab smashed samosas, Bhel or Chana Chaat as a dish on its own. Here’s their location!

After School Cookie Club
Hidden down in the new Borough Yards is a fully vegan cookie shop in Borough Market! This is another spot that has multiple locations around London and it’s another great sweet treat after filling up on vegan options at Borough Market.
You can choose from a fresh cookie, a milkshake or an ice cream sundae. We recommend grabbing the ice cream option on a hot day in London! Browse After School Cookie Clubs menu in advance.
Mallow
Mallow is one of the best vegan restaurants in Borough Market and highly rated within London itself. It’s the sister restaurant of Mildreds, another vegan restaurant in London, and it’s worth a visit!
This is one of the only sit-down meals on this list as it’s an established vegan restaurant and not a food stall.
Their menu is full of fresh flavourful food from a beetroot tempeh smash burger and a roast pepper sweet potato laksa.

If you’re on the hunt for vegan food in the UK, Brighton is another incredible place for vegans! Here’s our Brighton itinerary for your next visit!
All That Falafel – Borough High Street
Right around the corner from Borough Market is All That Falafel, a little food stall selling affordable vegan wraps. Their falafel wraps are vegan, but they also serve halloumi wraps separately.
It’s a great vegan option at Borough Market if you want to avoid the crowds and have something slightly cheaper than the other food stalls.
Humble Crumble
Humble Crumble is London’s first crumble food stall and they have vegan options! I see these all over Instagram and I’m proud to say, I’ve tried one – and it was amazing!
There’s a few locations of these around London, but at Borough Market you can order on a tablet. First, you choose your fruit from apple to mixed berry, then you choose how much crumble-to-fruit ratio you’d like.
Finally, you can pick from hot vegan custard or vegan whipped cream, we recommend the custard!
It’s the perfect dessert choice if you’re eating vegan at Borough Market! The queues can be pretty long, especially in the afternoon when people have already had their lunch.

For more vegan desserts, check out our London vegan bakeries guide!
The Free From Bakehouse
We also stumbled across the Free From Bakery when looking for vegan food at Borough Market. Although they specialise in gluten-free bakery treats, most cakes are vegan!
They create amazing vegan loaf cakes like spiced carrot cake and serve vegan pumpkin pie in Autumn. It’s the perfect spot if you’re gluten-free and vegan!
Gujarati Rasoi (Indian Food)
Indian food is some of the most vegan-friendly cuisines in the world and Gujarati Rasoi does a great job of showcasing this! They are a vegetarian food stall that serves tasty vegan thali’s, samosas and parathas.
The yoghurt isn’t vegan, so make sure you ask for a vegan dish when ordering. You can’t miss this place in the centre of Borough Market Kitchen!

The Cinnamon Tree Bakery
Nestled in the indoor section of Borough Market is The Cinnamon Tree Bakery, selling some of the best vegan brownies in London!
They sell vegan salted caramel & tahini brownies along with dark chocolate chip cookies and they are incredible.
These are the only vegan options at this stall in Borough Market, but they’re worth trying if you have a sweet tooth!

Did you know? Borough Market was a filming location for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban & Bridget Jones’s Diary! Plus many more films were filmed here. Visit Warner Bros Studios for more Harry Potter!
Vegan Options at Borough Market
Now we’ll move on to all of the other Borough Market vegan options from food stalls and restaurants. Luckily, most places in London have vegan options, so it’s popular to find at least one or two vegan options on a menu.
We have to note that not everywhere has a vegan option on their menu, that’s why we’ve created this list to help you prepare for your Borough Market vegan trip.
Tacos Padre
Fancy some vegan tacos in Borough Market? Tacos Padre is right next to Horn OK Please in the centre of Borough Market Kitchen – you won’t miss it! Mexico’s incredible cuisine has inspired these tacos and the vegan option here is a Cauliflower Al Pastor taco!
Arabica To Go
Arabica is a Middle Eastern restaurant that’s been running at Borough Market for 20 years! They’ve come a long way since then and luckily for us, they have vegan options at Borough Market.
It’s the best spot to go for Authentic Lebanese food such as dips, salads and a falafel wrap.
They also have a restaurant at Borough Market with tables and seating. You can find dishes like babaganoush, roasted eggplant, mushroom freekeh and pita!
Joli
Joli serves some incredible vegan food at Borough Market, such as jackfruit rendang, gyozas, and vegan noodles! We would love for them to serve a vegan laksa in the future, but, the options are pretty good for now!
The rendang is made with coconut milk served with rice so it’s the perfect dish on those cold days.

Khanom Krok
We have a huge love for Thai food, so whenever we get a chance to have mango sticky rice again, we take it! Khanom Krok is a Thai stall in Borough Market serving up tasty Thai food. As far as we know, the mango sticky rice is the only vegan option.
Juma Kitchen
Finding food in Borough Market as a vegan is pretty easy but we’ve written this guide so that you don’t miss out on any hidden spots. Juma is one of them – serving up Iraqi-inspired street food like okra stew.
The vegan uroog with aubergine served on pita-style bread looks amazing and so does the mushroom chap!
BAO
Just outside of the market is BAO, a Taiwanese restaurant with seating. BAO is known for its steamed buns and they have a vegan green monster bao, glazed tofu and grilled hispi cabbage. They also serve vegan-friendly Peanut Milk, which sounds incredible!
Although their restaurant isn’t directly in the market, it’s a good vegan option in the area.
Pieminister
When hunting for vegan places at Borough Market we came across Pieminister. Nothing gets more British than a pie and gravy! They currently have three vegan options – Kevin (Mushroom, Tomato & Quinoa) Pie, Mooless Moo (Jackfruit Steak & Pepper) and a This isn’t Chicken and Bacon Pie.
They do change up their pie selection, so they may have some new ones later in the year. You can eat the pie warm at the market or take them home for later.
Pieminister was born in Bristol! Check out our Bristol itinerary if you’re thinking of visiting for more incredible vegan food.
Silka Borough Market
Another sit-down restaurant on this list that serves vegan food at Borough Market is Silka. Silka is an Indian restaurant with a clearly marked vegan and vegetarian section on the menu.
Jhodpuri Aloo (coconut potatoes) is one of our favourites on the list and they also have lots of chickpea dishes! It’s also hard to find vegan nans at Indian restaurants, even in London, and Silka have them on their menu!

Turnips
Turnips is a fruit and vegetable market known for its infamous chocolate strawberries making their way around TikTok. Sadly the chocolate they use isn’t vegan, but you can grab any of their fruit or veg.
At night they also have a fine dining restaurant with a vegan tasting menu (when requested 48 hours in advance), we’ve never tried this ourselves though!
Shuk
Shuk is a lovely Israeli food stall in Borough Market serving up a tasty vegan Sabich Pita.
Their Tel Aviv-style pitas are a great option if you’re craving something fresh! Make sure you ask for the vegan version as it’s usually made vegetarian with egg. We hope they have more vegan food in the future!
Pochi
Pochi specializes in Japanese rice bowls at Borough Market. They have amazing vegan rice bowls with deep-fried cauliflower, fried aubergine (nasu dengaku) and tofu with mushroom. They even let you mix two options so we opted for aubergine and tofu!
Poch is great if you’re looking for vegan places to eat at Borough Market as almost half of their menu is vegan-friendly. This is another one of our favourite spots for food in Borough Market as a vegan!

Oroshi
Another vegan option at Borough Market is Oroshi. They’re a Japanese food stall serving a tofu bento box and a tofu ramen! We wish they had more options but luckily Pochi has some options to fill in the gap for Japanese food at the market.
Mei Mei
If you’re a vegan at Borough Market, it’s sometimes hard to choose a place that only has one vegan option. As Mei Mei only offers one vegan option, we were a little hesitant, but their Vegan Singapore Curry is pretty good! I wish it was a little bigger, but otherwise, we’re glad they serve a dish with tofu!
They serve food inspired by Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia! After looking at reviews for Mei Mei, we noticed that this spot is popular because of the YouTube channel Uncle Roger.
Rambutan
One of the last places on our Borough Market vegan list is a lovely dine-in Sri Lankan restaurant.
After visiting Sri Lanka, we fell in love with the Sri Lankan cuisine. Rambutan does a great job at recreating Sri Lankan dishes, but at the moment there aren’t many vegan options. Their menu is marked and the main vegan option is a beetroot curry with rice and sambol!

We’ve covered all of the vegan options at Borough Market that we could find! New options pop up all the time and we’ll have to check if anywhere adds a plant-based option to their menu.
We would love more fully vegan places at Borough Market, but at least there’s a pretty good variety of food in 2025.

Franco Manca – Although not in Borough Market, I’ve added Franco Manca (London Bridge) to this list to add a tasty pizza to this guide.
