We’re starting our vegan restaurants in Edinburgh guide with one of our favourite places! Sora Lella is a fully vegan Italian restaurant with delicious fresh pasta and amazing pizza. The atmosphere is so cosy and the food is top quality. Check out their website to find the menu.

Vegan Vietnamese Restaurant

In 2022 Sen Viet transitioned to be a fully vegan Vietnamese restaurant and if you’re a vegan in Edinburgh, this is amazing news! They also have a London restaurant with amazing reviews. As vegan Vietnamese restaurants are pretty rare, it feels like a luxury to pick anything from the menu. Check Sen Viet’s website for the full menu!

We highly recommend the Tofu Coconut Curry, Tofu Summer Rolls and any of their Pho’s!

Nova Pizza is owned by the same owner as Sora Lella which means the food is also of amazing quality. The prices are slightly higher than Sora Lella, but this vegan restaurant has so many high reviews, it must be worth it! Head over to Nova Pizza’s website to explore the menu!

Vegan Malaysian Restaurant

Another one of Edinburgh’s unique vegan restaurants is Soul Vegan, a fully Malaysian vegan restaurant in Edinburgh. Soul Vegan is in a beautiful building in the heart of Edinburgh with a lovely atmosphere. The food here is delicious and the Laksa is one of their signature dishes. Browse their website & menu here!

Vegan Mexican Restaurant

Antojitos serve tasty vegan food in Edinburgh! They’re actually the first vegan Mexican restaurant in Scotland and also have a spot in Glasgow. On a Saturday we popped by midday and found a market inside the restaurant which is a great way to multi-use the space. Here’s the website and menu!

Tucked downside a side street next to St John’s Church is Pulse. They serve a variety of cuisines inspired by places all over the world. They focus on healthy, low-sugar meals and believe that plant-based food is the way forward!

Black Rabbit are known for their amazing cruffins and after trying a Cheez cruffin we totally understand the hype! They’re delicious and so unique – we wish we had bought more for our journey back to London. Considerit is another vegan cafe in Edinburgh and they specialise in doughnuts, artisan chocolate & ice cream! Their flavours are incredible and they feel so luxurious! It’s best to check the menu through Google Maps but here’s their website too!

We spoke with the lovely manager about vegan options and were so excited to find out the pumpkin katsu curry was vegan! They also have a page of vegan ramen labelled on the menu and some sushi too! Vegan snacks in Edinburgh

It’s pretty easy to find vegan snacks in Edinburgh and anywhere in the UK. If you visit any Greggs, Pret, Cafe Nero or Costa, you’ll definitely find plant-based drinks and vegan cakes or sandwiches these days!

Shopping in supermarkets is one of the best ways to find vegan snacks and is also budget-friendly to make room for trying amazing vegan restaurants in Edinburgh.
Here’s a breakdown of the supermarkets in Scotland:

Sainsbury’s – lots of vegan food including ready-made sandwiches and wraps in meal deals.

Tesco – also a great place for to-go food such as sandwiches and wraps!

Lidl – similar to Aldi, this is the cheapest supermarket to find basic groceries such as fruit, veg and bread and nuts. There’s not much vegan to-go food in here other than fresh produce!

Aldi – similar to Lidl, this is one of the cheapest supermarkets in the UK and they have a great range of vegan products!

Waitrose – slightly more expensive than other supermarkets, Waitrose has a few vegan products spread out around the store.

M&S – Marks and Spencers is a great supermarket for vegan products although it’s slightly more expensive than Sainsbury’s and Tesco. They have lots of vegan to-go options!

Asda – a little out of the centre is Asda, another budget-friendly shop serving a range of vegan products

Morrisons – A little out of the centre, but has a few vegan products to try!

Personally, Lidl, Aldi and Tesco are our go-to supermarkets in Edinburgh. Tesco Express and Sainsbury’s Locals can be found all around the city with quick options such as sandwiches or soups if you want to cook in your accommodation.

    Posting an update, Antojitos is no longer in the Doghouse, it relocated to Edinburgh Street food near the Omnicentre, Harmonium, The Baked Potato shop and Plant Bae are permanently closed, there is a new vegan place called Pulse down the steps at the back of St John’s Church at the west end of Princes St. It has had very good reviews.
