3 Day Corfu Itinerary: Best Things To Do (2026)

Planning a Corfu itinerary? Here’s our travel guide on the best things to do in Corfu, how to get around and where to stay. We spent 3 days in Corfu exploring the beautiful Old Town, gorgeous beaches and impressive viewpoints. The island blew us away!

We would definitely visit again to explore more Greek beaches and eat gyros every day. Eating vegan isn’t a problem in Corfu with falafel gyros, vegan mousaka and plenty of salads on the island!

Corfu is the perfect holiday destination with multiple areas to stay around the island with pools and a variety of restaurants! It’s popular to spend a week at a resort in Corfu, but in this guide, we want to encourage you to explore the nature of the island and the unique beaches.

Even if you’re not that into beaches, you can spend your days wandering around the old town, finding charming villages on the island and soaking up the Greek atmosphere.

The Best 3 Day Corfu Itinerary

So we actually spent just over 3 days in Corfu, as we arrived the afternoon before. We picked up our car rental, grabbed groceries from Lidl and spent the first evening chilling out on a beach in Paleokastritsa!

We’re starting the first day of this Corfu itinerary right from the morning. So if you arrive later in the day, you may want to switch your first and last day around.

Day 1 – Tunnel of Love, Incredible Viewpoints & Unique Bars

The first place to explore on your 3 days in Corfu is Sidari in the north of the island. Although we based ourselves in Palaiokastritsa, Sidari is a lovely place to stay and we saw some beautiful hotels!

Wherever you’re staying, start your day with a drive to Sidari (you can also get the bus from Corfu Old Town, Mantouki)!

Swim at Canal d’Amour

Canal d’Amour was one of our favourite places to visit during our 3 day Corfu itinerary. It translates to the Canal of Love and the legendary tale is that couples who swim through the canal together will be blessed with infinite love! Of course, we had to swim through!

We made sure to arrive early enough in the day to experience the beach without crowds of people. As it can get very busy from 11 am and the beach is very small! We saw people finding spots on the large rocks for sunbathing.

Nestled between unique rock formations, the ‘tunnel of love’ (Dionysus Cave) can be easily reached from the beach. The water is pretty deep and Dan (who is 6 feet tall) could only just touch the bottom whilst going through the cave.

With that being said, the cave and beach are not supervised, so you have to be careful whilst swimming. There are some spots to rest inside the cave and on the other side, but the water is mostly deep throughout the swim! Deep enough to jump from the large rocks!

Note – The small set of stairs was slippery and dangerous on our visit, which is meant to be the only safe way down to the beach. You can use the rocks against the stairs, but just be careful!

Parking – We parked in a free car park in Sidari and walked for 20 minutes through the town and beaches, as the parking at Canal d’Amour is paid. You can also book a Canal d’Amour, Kassiopi and Barbati Tour if you don’t have a car!

Admire the views at Cape Drastis

After spending most of our day at Canal d’Amour we packed up and headed to one of the best viewpoints in Corfu – Cape Drastis.

Cape Drastis is another natural wonder in Corfu with tall sandy cliffs and islands floating in the water. It’s recognised from the popular British TV show ‘The Durrells’ which is based in Corfu.

Although we only visited for the views, you can also hike down to the beaches and take boat trips around the area.

Parking – You can only reach Cape Drastis by car, scooter, quad or tour. The road into Cape Drastis isn’t the best and is really dusty! We parked on the side of the road at the beginning but realised there was more parking further down, there were just some really bad bumps.

Loggas beach

When visiting Cape Drastis we saw signs for Loggas Beach, so we had to check it out! Loggas Beach is known for having the best sunsets on the island and while we didn’t get to see one – we were very impressed with the views! Honestly, Corfu Island is filled with dramatic views and you won’t be disappointed!

There’s a steep path down to the small rocky beach, so we recommend wearing good walking shoes. But Loggas Beach is mostly popular for the views from the top of the cliffs.

You can also visit 7th Heaven and walk across the Glass Skywalk to appreciate the scenery. We just walked in for free, but it’s probably a good idea to buy a drink.

After visiting Loggas Beach, head back to your accommodation and get ready for your first evening in Corfu!

Dive or Drink at La Grotta

When we arrived at our accommodation in Palaiokastritsa, our host told us to visit La Grotta Bar for the best drinks on the island. After doing a little more research, we realised she recommended one of the most unique bars in Corfu!

La Grotta is nestled within the rocky cliffs of Palaiokastritsa down some steep steps. But the most fun part about this bar is that they have a diving board! You can jump into the crystal-clear water, go snorkelling or simply relax.

If you get there in the daytime you’ll pay 20€ for a sunbed which is a moderately high price for Corfu.

It can also get really busy here, especially during sunset. We visited when the sun was already hidden behind the rocks and people were wearing some super nice dresses! It’s definitely the spot to be during your 3 days in Corfu. Find the location on maps here.

Day 2 – Incredible Beaches & A Donkey Sanctuary

We stayed in an apartment, so we made our own breakfast and prepared some snacks to take with us for the day. Corfu is full of fresh ingredients, especially in the summer season! We recommend starting your day early as the island gets busy quickly.

Hike down to Porto Timoni Beach

Porto Timoni Beach is on the northwestern side of the island and is a must-visit on our 3 day Corfu itinerary.

We have already mentioned that Cape Drastis has some incredible views, but Porto Timoni Beach is our favourite viewpoint in Corfu. There is a bit of hiking involved to reach both the viewpoint and the beach. If it’s hot, you’ll want to bring lots of water!

Porto Timoni Viewpoint is on the way down to the beach so you can do both at the same time as the water is crystal clear! We didn’t realise how long the walk would take about 20 minutes to the viewpoint, so it made sense to visit the beach at the same time.

The beach was quiet and peaceful when we arrived, but it soon became overflowed with tourists visiting the beach by boat from Agios Georgios beach nearby. There’s a pebbly beach and a sandy rocky beach to choose from.

The hike back up to Afionas felt long in the heat, but we admired the views on the way. We also grabbed some lunch in Afionas after our morning at the beach.

Parking – We arrived early enough to find a free parking spot on the road just before Afionas village. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay for parking.

Visit the Donkey Sanctuary

We always love to give back when travelling and a visit to Corfu’s donkey sanctuary was the perfect way to do it. They are open from 10:00 to 16:00 every day and we managed to visit the last 30 minutes before closing.

This sanctuary aims to create a good life for donkeys who have spent their life working hard for humans. They have donkeys that are old or injured and they often look after donkeys that are sick.

Corfu Donkey Rescue also look after a handful of cats and dogs and the cats were so friendly to stroke! We also gave the donkeys some brushes and strokes.

It’s free to visit, but we recommend donating towards these animals! The sanctuary is on the way to Paleokastritsa, so it fits perfectly with our 3 day Corfu itinerary.

Relax at Paleokastritsa

Paleokastritsa is a beautiful region in Corfu filled with olive trees, beaches and rugged cliffs. There are too many beaches to choose from, but we recommend Alipa Beach! Here’s a few more in Paleokastritsa:

Alipa Beach – a lovely turquoise beach with lots of boats nearby for day trips.

Agia Triada Beach – incredible clear waters, but the beach has lots of sunbeds in high season.

Agios Spiridon Beach – pebbly beach with crystal clear water and restaurants close by.

Paleokastritsa Beach – a slim piece of beach with access to the clear ocean.

Ampelaki Beach – a quieter beach in Paleokastritsa but sunbeds are still €20

La Grotta Beach Bar – we already mentioned this on day 1, but this beach is only rocks and diving boards!

End your night with a sunset from one of these beaches or make your way back to the area you’re staying!

Day 3 – Explore Corfu’s Historic Old Town

On day 3 of our Corfu itinerary, we checked out of our lovely little apartment in Paleokastritsa and drove to Corfu Old Town. We had a very late flight which meant we could spend the whole day exploring the historic city!

You could also book an ATV Quad Guided Tour at the Pink Palace nearby if you feel like an adventure!

Corfu Old Town feels like a little slice of Italy as it’s filled with mostly Venetian architecture mixed with a bit of British and French. The historical city is labelled a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it’s easy to see why!

There’s lots of things to do in Corfu Old Town, you could easily spend a few days browsing the historic castles, museums and old streets. Here’s a few options for you on this Corfu itinerary:

Explore the Markets & Streets

One of our favourite things to do in Corfu is to simply wonder the streets of the Old Town. We loved finding quiet side streets amongst the hustle and bustle.

Corfu Old Town is the place to be for souvenirs and gifts. From artistic-styled olive wood to coasters with cats on them – you can find a little bit of everything here.

Liston Promenade

In the heart of Corfu Old Town, you’ll find a beautiful promenade with architectural buildings along the strip. There’s not a huge amount of shops in this section but it’s a nice place to walk!

Old Fortress

A visit to the Old Fortress is one of the best things to do in Corfu – it feels like you’ve stepped back in time! The Venetian fortress sits on the edge of the town next to the Ionian Sea and dates back to the 15th century.

Spend a couple of hours exploring the paths between the old stone fortress walls. Also check out the Museum of Byzantine and Church of St. George inside the fortress. There’s great views of the Old Town from the fortress!

The entry fee is €6, which isn’t too bad! You can also get a pretty good view of the castle from Faliraki ‘Bathing’ Beach area.

Relax in Spianada Square

If it’s a hot day, take a break in Spianada Square, right next to the Old Fortress. We grabbed some Greek pastries from Starenio Bakery and ate them in the green park!

Take a dip in the ocean

Did you know you can swim in Corfu Old Town? There’s dedicated places around the city to relax and swim in the turquoise ocean.

Faliraki Bathing Beach is the best place to dip in the ocean as there’s a bar and a cafe nearby! You can relax on sunbeds as if you were on any beach in Corfu! Kerkira Beach is a lot more chill with a tiny strip of stone to sit on whilst taking a dip.

New Venetian Fortress

Although labelled as the ‘new’, the New Venetian Fortress dates back to 1578! It’s on the other side of Corfu Old Town on the west and costs €5 to enter.

Although the New Venetian Fortress is a great place to visit, if you only have a short amount of time, we recommend visiting the Old Fortress as there’s more to see! There is amazing views from the New Fortress though!

If you’re visiting multiple museums in Corfu Old Town, get an Attraction Pass for €17 at your first stop!

Where to stay in Corfu

Corfu is quite a big island with many different areas to stay. If you want to follow our 3 day Corfu itinerary, you should stay in the North of the island. We recommend Paleokastritsa (where we stayed), Sidari (more party-ish), Agios Georgios and Corfu Old Town. Here’s a few places to stay in Corfu:

Manganas Studios (Paleokastritsa) – We loved our stay here with our own spacious apartment. The host was amazing and gave us fresh fruit. The location was great as you could walk around Paleokastritsa – Find it on Booking.com here!

Spianada Apartments (Corfu Old Town) – in the heart of Corfu Old Town, you can stay in your own apartment in the city and enjoy the beautiful old streets – Find it on Booking.com here!

More Things To Do in Corfu

If you’re spending more than 3 days in Corfu or need alternative ideas, here’s more things to do in Corfu:

Where to eat in Corfu

Corfu is full of amazing food from Greek salads to gyros and the classic international dishes. We were trying to stick to a budget, so we ate a few gyros and cooked at our apartment. But here’s a few places we recommend visiting when spending 3 days in Corfu:

  • Kantina Grill – another place for vegan gyros in Corfu (Sidari)
  • The Grill – tasty vegan Gyro’s (near Porto Timoni Beach)
  • Gran Aladino – a 10/10 Greek restaurant with vegan options (Palaiokastritsa)
  • Tabule Rasa – a veggie Greek restaurant serving an amazing vegan mousaka (Corfu Old Town)
  • Starenio Bakery – Greek pastries and cakes with vegan options (Corfu Old Town)
  • Bizou Cafe & Antiques – a delicious vegan restaurant in the Old Town with vegan pancakes, scrambled tofu and tiramisu! (Corfu Old Town)

We visited all of these restaurants apart from Bizou Cafe as it was closed the day we were in Corfu Old Town! But we also had ILO ILO and Ice Cream on our list which we didn’t get to visit.

Best time to visit Corfu

The best time to visit Corfu is May, June and September as the island will be less crowded and there’ll still be great weather.

We’d love to recommend July and August, but it’s peak travel season which means most places on this 3 day Corfu itinerary will be filled with people by the afternoon.

We visited at the beginning of August as it was the only time we had free and it was super hot! As there’s more people on the island, we made sure to book accommodation in advance and get out early!

Although Corfu is a year-round destination, in the winter season (around November to March), most of the restaurants and accommodations on the coast close. Luckily Corfu Old Town doesn’t change!

How to get around Corfu

Renting a Car in Corfu – We rented a car for our 3 days in Corfu and we highly recommend it! You can also rent ATVs and scooters to get around the island but a car will be much more comfortable on the windy hilly roads of Corfu.

Check prices on Discover Cars in advance so you know what to expect. We had a Fiat Panda and it worked our €50 a day for August! We’re usually very budget-friendly, but this decision was totally worth it!

Parking in Corfu – In the summer season (peak), the island gets a lot of traffic. If you want to follow this Corfu itinerary, we highly recommend starting your day early! Get to your destination before 9 am if you want to beat the crowds and enjoy uncrowded beaches. You’ll also have to pay to park in certain places around Corfu.

Paleokastritsa can get really busy at certain times of day and parking becomes a nightmare!

Buses in Corfu – The local transportation in Corfu isn’t the best but there are Blue Buses that can get you around the island and they are affordable! Stay somewhere central, a lot of buses go from Corfu Old Town. Check the bus routes here on Greeka’s website.

Tours in Corfu – If you’re staying in Old Town and don’t want to rent a car or get the bus, you can book tours to take you to the best sights on the island!

How to get to Corfu

By Plane – Corfu Airport is right next to Corfu Old Town and it only takes 20 minutes to walk into the city centre (it was the first time we ever walked to an airport). You can fly in from Athens or anywhere else in Europe.

By Ferry from Albania (Sarande) – A fun way to get to Corfu is from Sarande in Albania. We spent 2.5 weeks travelling around Albania and added Corfu to the end of our trip. It can take 30 minutes to 1 hour and prices are around €20-€30.

How many days to spend in Corfu

We spent 3 days in Corfu and we only just about managed to see the main highlights, but it meant we had to rush around each day and didn’t get to fully relax.

A lot of people visiting the Corfu choose to spend about 1 week exploring the sights and spending whole days at one beach.

If you’re an adventurer like us, we recommend spending at least 3 days in Corfu with 5-7 days being an ideal amount. You’ll have time to do more day trips like the Day Cruise to Paxos, Antipaxos, & the Blue Caves.

How to spend one day Corfu

If you only have one day in Corfu, you may want to focus on the wonderful Old Town. You won’t even have to miss out on a dip in the ocean as there’s beach bars in the north of the town.

Alternatively, you can join a group tour to explore the rest of the island or rent a car yourself.

What to do in Corfu at night

Head to Kavos – in the South of Corfu, you’ll find the biggest party district on the island.

La Grotta Bar – get drinks at La Grotta and enjoy the atmosphere of being nestled in the cliffs.

Dine late into the evening – restaurants are open quite late in Corfu, so you can dine late after a day of exploring!

Visit a Cocktail Bar – Corfu Old Town is filled with cocktail bars, live music and pubs.

Enjoy Sidari – a great spot for nightlife in the North of Corfu!

Is Corfu worth visiting?

Yes! Corfu is the first Greek island we visited and we instantly fell in love. There’s so much adventuring to do around the island, that we really had to squeeze our activities into a 3 day Corfu itinerary.

The island is filled with lush greenery and it’s the perfect place to relax! We wish we had more time in Corfu, but 3 days is a great starting point!
